In the middle is a named if you kill it forces a new beast to become king about 3-5 minutes later (there is no order it is random so when you get down to the last few drops just pull / kill the king until the right group pops). So basically what you want to do is farm the empowered beasts surrounding the "hill" who drop the various quest items. 1 item per kill of empowered mobs. The named does not drop a piece. Here is an example of where / when the apes are in control, aka the empowered ape mobs would drop {{#Lucy: Pristine Ape Fur}}
