In a stroke of advertising genius, the Kelovar Assassins killed the Neo-American president on April 14 by Earth's calendar -- the very same date on which Abraham Lincoln was assassinated centuries earlier. They even had the hitman dress like John Wilkes Booth. This enabled them to ride a tidal wave of free publicity, and when they advertised their "assassination anniversary" discounts, business boomed. Furthermore, the dead president's successor and his Rabid Rhino Party (which happened to control both parts of the legislature) passed a law stating that his predecessor's death wasn't a crime, but rather a national service. Thus no charges were ever brought against the Kelovar Assassins. | |
