The monstrous offspring of the rushy thickets of Haradan, the giant Harpin does not hesitate for a moment when it spots some tasty prey. If anybody hears a deafening buzzing sound in the air above them, it means that an encounter with the winged predator is unavoidable – it is practically impossible to escape the attack. In the flash of an eye it overtakes the trembling victim and clamps its jaws onto their body.... If the victim is strong enough and fights back, the disgusting insect will pierce them with its stinger, which is dripping with venom that is fatal to all living things.... Many people have died as a result of their habit of looking down at their feet rather than into the sky when there are hungry Harpins about.
