Thanks a lot for all of your work, I will be getting consumables page up eventually. It takes time to do things when playing and have school too.

I was wondering where you are getting all of the images from, do you have the directory tree where I can locate them? I grabbed the ones I did off of the forums that were there for avatars, but was going to have to resort to screen shots + cropping for the rest which I wasn't too keen on. --Danxor 14:27, 18 November 2010 (CST)

I saw the problem, I was going to get around to it in a bit. I think for the item images the icons would be best, I know you did the other images but if I add the images to the equipment pages, such as main hand, the page will get very long due to the images being more vertical than wide. --Danxor 19:16, 19 November 2010 (CST)

I went ahead and merged the Ship and Item templates, I knew I was going to do that, just hadn't gotten around to it. It was starting to make various templates a pain to manage. As for the item images, I do like the idea of the bigger picture on the actual item pages. The icons would be good for the list pages, I can make them refer to a icon image and have the need image link up on them whenever you are ready to put in icons. Utilities can be resized I think, the crew/ships/officers use unique row templates I can make them shrink the bigger images just fine.

Nope I am getting them from just playing the game, I tried to datamine them but when you log in the game only downloads to your client the items you have at least 1 of so I can't even do that.

Re-Vamping

The new colors look good but I think a tad bit darker background would make the pages look sharper. The individual Item pages could get switched from the black background over to the darker gray to make the site look more uniformed. I can do this if you ok it.

admin stuffs

Seems there is a new spam bot out there. Please help me delete any images and articles they create plus ban their accounts indefinitely until I can come up with a more permanent solution. They appear to be coming from data centers so if we keep a record of the IPs I can block the whole IP range on the server firewall. Maybe keep a record on Spammer IP List ? The main issue is that if we are not vigilant at dealing with the spam more spam bots are likely to find it and be a pain. Zoycite

new setting

I turned on a setting in the wiki software that only lets accounts of a certain age create pages. I set the lock out time to 2 hours. Legitimate users should not be inconvenienced very much by this as most users are editing existing articles versus creating new ones. I don't like it much, because adding pages is important for some templates such as Quests in EQ/Juggernaut. Though some of the extension alternatives I do not like presently, don't want a php firewall. Blocking the data center on the server firewall where the spam requests originate generally will stop most of the spam. Spammers that are spamming with what ever product are trying things like phpmyadmin logins too which a mediawiki extension wont stop. good thing there isn't such a thing as phpmyadmin on the server hah. go ahead and add/modify/delete what ever you think is needed. Items are done via wikibot, just put {{DONOTEDIT}} template on the item page if you edit it, bot will skip; i put it as last template on page. who is your character in game? - Zoycite

Yep, the devs love to make lots of work for us lol. I got half a day off of work thanks to thunderstorms (work outside) and decided to bounce over here to help out since converting all the dotd items to the new template gets a little monotonous. But yeah the setup here is definitely a lot easier for adding stuff than in DotD, it's nice how everything just grabs it all from the item page. Feathin 16:26, 29 September 2011 (CDT)

- Lorak, I think at zone 7 there is a couple of words that could change by your name and gender. Maybe you could check it and see if does change and put a sign. Is this a good idea?.

I remember seeing a post by the dev's on the forum's about this and I'm sure there is a player gender flag to change man/woman him/her when the lore text is displayed. beyond adding a note that "This may differ slightly from what you see in game based on the gender of your in game character." we can add a second lore but i think for maybe 10 entries is it worth having 2 copies?
