When TALOS built this robot for the Sian Empire, they named him after a legendary Chinese warrior from ancient Earth, out of deference to the empire's cultural traditions. But the emperor, sharing the general disdain for sentient robots felt by most of mankind, rejected the gift. Thus Lu Bu returned to TALOS space, awaiting the day when he would one day be able to fulfill his purpose
