5. The Second Empress, known to history as the Black Dragon Empress, is something of a blemish on the empire's proud history. From her girlhood she was obsessed with fighting, weapons, and war -- and longed to lead her troops into battle as Daedun Qin had done. Soon after she ascended to the throne she began a conflict with the Niflungs which might well have proven disastrous. But she died in combat, allowing her more clearheaded brother to assume imperial power and make peace. It's said that she finally realized the great harm she was doing to her people, and entered into that last battle with no intention of surviving -- knowing that the Sian Empire deserved a better ruler.
