Xeno-historians aren't clear which extinct species is meant to have come to Rak-Thun Prime, and their efforts to research the matter aren't aided by the official position of the Huk-Kral's mighty empire (i.e. that they developed spaceflight before first contact, no visitors ever came to their planet, and anyone who suggests otherwise deserves to be slaughtered in the most painful manner imaginable). Given the impossiblity of keeping a species-wide secret, it's likely that if record of this survives, only a tiny number of Huk-Kral know of its existence. But scholars from other species have attempted to piece things together as best they can, despite scanty evidence and the constant threat of violent death.
