While his ultimate motivations and goals are unknown, the Gallassa known as The Dark Phantom is a popular legend among the crew of merchant ships. It's said that he appears without warning on ships under attack from pirates, repelling invaders and marshalling the defenses of the beleaguered crew and officers. Never saying a word, his heroics go unexplained, and when the fighting has done he fades like a fog in the morning sun.
