Zoywiki/LotS Officers

Tutorial on adding a new Officer item page to the Zoywiki - Legacy of a Thousand Suns Wiki, and having it use the appropriate templates.

• This wiki uses a number of templates to give a similar layout for all of the Item/Officer/Ship pages and requires that certain fields and info are provided, this saves a lot of time and only requires minimal data entry to complete a page.

(note that crew procedure is similar, I will create a guide page for all of the variables at a future time once I have the format set - Lorak990 (talk))

1) Upload the image of the officer. Take a screenshot of the larger image that pops up when you mouse hover over the officer, and crop it to a 128x128 pixels image size. Upload it (click on left upload file). Make sure to name it appropriately so that the officer template will pick it up.

• Note all images used for the LotS wiki are prefixed with LotS_ - For this example, an appropriate name would be LotS_Loq and Quax.png

2) Edit the officers page. Page down and insert the appropriate line alphabetically (easiest is to copy/paste and then edit an existing line). For instance

3) After you save the page, you can page down and notice there will be a number of errors in red for that newly created officer spot on the officer list page. But what we need is the part on that line that says something like "Unable to locate article: LotS/Loq and Quax". Click on that and it will take you to the page editor for the new officer. In this case it was automatically named:

4) Its best to copy/paste the wiki entry from an existing officer, and then edit it appropriately. Here's the info from Gera Marl as an example

5) Edit everything that needs to be changed. For our example we would need to edit the 2nd line to read:

• Note: that if an officer is from a Raid or a Vault, make sure to add the appropriate info into the obtained= for example

  . Its easiest to find if its linked already somewhere else. You can typically get that info by clicking edit on another officer.

• Note: If the page for the item you are linking to does not exist it will give an error: similar to , this is due to the automatic lookup for that item failing, once the page exists it will resolve correctly.

6) After verifying that the page looks correct via the preview button. You should be done! Save the page! Double check that it works from the officer main page, the thumbnail is in place and works, and that clicking on the officer takes you to the proper page with the proper info. If any mistakes are there, edit to fix.
