|text=Although the cloning of dead pets has been popular for generations, it's not a perfect solution for people who miss their beloved companions -- because it simply creates a genetically identical copy rather than resurrecting them. Hence the Zombie Mockalypse was rather exciting to those who wished to secure an eternal undead existence for faithful dogs and the like. Alas, it proved to be a hoax. But certain companies did manage to capitalize on the notion by releasing a range of robotic hounds with zombie-like skins and genuine brain-eating functions.
