One eye enables them to see with exceptional clarity in lowlight environments. Another permits Vlargs to see thermographic images -- allowing them to detect prey and enemies via body heat. The third can perceive a much broader spectrum, from infrared to ultraviolet. This curious arrangement means that a Vlarg who loses an eye will in turn lose a valuable optical trait.
