Translation: "A wrestling match continued until one athlete scored three falls over his opponent. This is attested to in numerous sources. One of the best illustrations is a tale concerning the legendary Milo of Croton. At one particular athletics festival Milo was the only wrestler who entered the competition, possibly because the other wrestlers were so intimidated by him, and realised that they had no chance of defeating him. In the absence of any challengers, Milo was called up by the judges to receive his prize. However, in the process of doing so he tripped and fell. The crowd of spectators mocked him, and declared that since he had taken a fall he should count as being defeated and not receive the prize for the event. Milo calmly stood up, and pointed out that he had only taken one fall. He dared anyone present to attempt to score the remaining two falls over him. Not surprisingly, the crowd fell silent, and he collected his prize."
