|text=V. With the Huk-Kral ravaging their worlds and annexing their territory, Quiskerians turned to religion in droves. When archaeologists explored the first of the temples on Ciaxia, they discerned that some of the inscriptions were far more recent than the rest, and bore apocalyptic messages -- speaking of impending destruction and condemning the atheists who'd brought it about with their impiety. These had been written by Quiskerians taking shelter in underground shrines prior to the Huk-Kral attack on the planet. They may have thought they'd be safe from their enemies so far underground. But the Huk-Kral were determined to make an example of Ciaxia, knowing that it was a religious and cultural focal point for the Quiskerians. So they bombarded it with radioactive weapons.
