|text=According to urban legend, the original manufacturer of Mindshock weapons harvested the brains of low-grade psychics, mashed them up in a vat (the brains, not the psychics), and included a small amount of the resultant brain goo in each weapon. Particles of said brain goo would be expelled every time they fired, hampering the psionic abilities of any enemies in the vicinity. Cynics have always derided these tales -- pointing out that the science is laughable, and that it would likely be more profitable to sell psychics' brains to neurophagic Snuuth instead.
