|text=3. But when her child -- grown up and pursuing a career in information communications -- burst through the door of their small apartment with her face pale and frame shaking, she knew the girl's pursuit of truth had gone too far.

She held her daughter, and wished she could mask the sound of her pounding heart as she listened to the tale. Too many rules had been broken. Treason, terrorism, information leaking across networks, illegal raids, hacking. A long list of activities that would cause a person to just disappear -- or, as her daughter added, experience a transport malfunction.

Her daughter explained in a whisper that she wouldn't be around for much longer. The government had caught on to the fake ID that she used for such communications, and it was only a matter of time before they came for her.
