The speaker is a young woman who calls herself Evre. She's one of the twelve people standing in the black gear worn by the Apocalyne, a group of danger enthusiasts who seem to prefer adding what they think is an apocalyptic aesthetic to their endeavors. But of the ones gathered around, it's Evre who seems keenest to put you to the test.

She sets her blowtorch ablaze. "Maybe you should fight me, see what you're- "

You lift your gun and shoot. Evre's torch falls to the ground and she jumps back, avoiding its fire.

"Are you nuts!?" she screeches, then after a moment, reaches down to pick up her torch -- which was burning a small groove in the concrete. "I didn't say start!"

You shrug. "If you can win a fight before it starts, all the better."
