::Maser's body is actually a cloud of hydrogen gas. Without his costume, his body will disperse, making him unable to fight. But it also gives him an advantage: As long as his costume remains,he can still fights due to the fact that he can barely feel anything.

::Maser can sculpts electromagnetic waves, shaping them into any form he wished. This grands him the ability to control metal objects, from an enemies's knife to a full-sized car.

::One of Maser's greatest weakness is he can't fight well if there is no metal around him. Knowing about that, Maser has also developed the ability to blast out energy rays. Though its power isn't too much, it's still enough to fight normal criminals as well as create some distraction when facing formidable ones.

== History ==
Jeffrey Mosser was just a few years old when his powers manifested themselves, turning his little body into a cloud of hydrogen gas. One can only imagine the sheer trauma he experienced, and that of the poor parents who witnessed such a fate befall their son. They would surely have believed he was dead -- spontaneously combusted, leaving only the gas behind -- except that Jeffrey was still able to scream.<br />

The boy lived, but it was a bitter existence. He was sealed inside a bubble to prevent his gaseous body from dispersing. That's how he spent his childhood, shut off from all the pursuits and pleasures of youth.
Finally Aloysius Zeroth, a friend of the Mossers, was able to intervene. He completed work on a special suit which the boy would be able to control as though it were a genuine body. With this he was finally permitted to obtain some semblance of a normal existence. Furthermore, he was able to harness and develop the powers which had until then been only a curse. He learned to sculpt electromagnetic waves, shaping them into any form he wished.<br />

He would have been a splendid candidate for the Phaeton Project but his lost childhood had left him resentful and rebellious, unwilling to buckle down and accept the authority of others. He fell in with a group of Emergent miscreants, and now wants to do nothing but enjoy himself in their company.
