He was a jewel thief, making a good dishonest living by boosting precious stones. So when he learned that a laboratory had a large cache of diamonds onsite, he decided to pay them a visit. As it transpired, the lab was actually developing a synthetic diamond product called 'diamonoid'. And Fracas ended up falling into a liquid vat of the substance during the attempted heist.<br />
<br />
He thought he was going to drown, his lungs flooded with fake diamond sludge. But he didn't. Instead he emerged from the vat in a strange new state, his body altered by the diamonoid.<br />
<br />
Suing the lab's owners for their lax safety measures offset the criminal prosecution Fracas faced for breaking into the place. A free man, he was recruited by the EFL -- to compete in matches as The Diamonoid.<br />
<br />
Today he makes a good living as a combat sport athlete and entertainer. However, he's often tempted to go back to his old way of life.
