This fight is against a mage, he only uses spells against you.  Once you beat on him for a little while he will use his ability Shadow of Death, this is the key to victory.  Do not attack him when he uses this, instead anger him (click the <span style="color: red;">'''!!!'''</span> next to his name) , it will cause a 10hp wisp to spawn and you will immediately switch to it, at this point you can use an idol to kill him stalling against the wisp.
