|Welcome!||2||10:00, 30 August 2013|
you seem to be interested in wikis and stuff, and on the programming path like me, so If you want to start collaborating on some of the more technical programming wiki stuff i am all for getting discussions going. the main wiki chat atm is in AOL Instant Messenger. My AIM name is zoycite1101.
It is impossible for me to do everything myself, so people with technical understandings about MediaWiki are very important to site development and growth.
So some of the cool stuff we got back end wise
- VMWare ESX
- Source control (perforce)
- Build automation
- Wiki Extensions
- Game Parser scripts
- Server Administration
- Staging/Test Environments
So I am willing to teach any and all such things to further knowledge for myself and others. I know these subjects are very technical and go well into computer science realms. However if you are willing to get involved, I am willing to learn and teach.
I'd be interested, but I don't really have time. I do too many things to be able to go into something like this, especially with my classes as well. Thank you for the offer; I'll be sure to email you when I can get involved.
Not a problem. I am all about the site being a project of free time. So I understand. I started it in college because I had free time.
Though if you want I will gladly exchange IMs until then.
I don't use AIM and I'd rather not install another program, my computer is already slow :/
no problem. I understand. You should upgrade to a more fully featured IM client like pidgin or Trillian. pidgin is super low resource use, and does everything but skype hehe.
email me whenever you are free / want to get into doing stuff independently.
I myself have finished a CS degree. So I know it is hard and time consuming especially with an addictive gaming and/or trolling habit mixed in.
Thanks. I'm not sure how much I'll do, depends on what there is and how much time I have.
If you need any help or have any questions do not hesitate to ask. I will always try to explain things for you to learn first. And if we can't resolve it that way I will go ahead and start tinkering and trying to figure it out.
If that fails well there is a whole slew more options that we will cross depending on the need.
